AliShopping v2.0.0.20 Released: Shopify Feedback Flywheel + Full 16-Language Coverage
AliShopping v2.0.0.20 — What Changed
This release went live on 2026-04-23 after two weeks of tightening every surface that touches retention and feedback. There are no flashy new research features in v20. Instead, this is the release that makes v21 measurable.
1. Shopify Feedback Flywheel
Opening any Shopify store after your third meaningful interaction now shows a small NPS prompt — a 0-to-10 score ask, followed by a branching flow.
Promoters (score 9-10) see a share CTA that copies a tagged Chrome Web Store link to their clipboard. The link carries a referral ID so future installs from that link are attributed back to the referrer.
Passives (score 7-8) and detractors (score 0-6) see an inline textarea. The text submits directly to our backend via an existing tracking endpoint — no third-party forms, no redirects, no Tally. The signal is segment-aware: a dropshipper's feedback is tagged differently from a hybrid brand's, so we can see whether pain points cluster by store type.
The prompt is gated: segments A_BRAND and B_RETAILER do not see it (they rarely refer peers), and all segments get the prompt at most once every 14 days.
2. Telemetry Pipeline Fix
Four existing call sites — ReviewPrompt.vue, cross-tab-attribution.ts, find-on-aliexpress.ts, and the new ShopifyFeedbackPrompt.vue — fire tracking events with type: 'TRACK_EVENT'. For months, the Chrome extension background script only routed AFF_TRACK_EVENT (a different string), so these events silently dropped. The fix is a bridge function in background.ts that routes the generic TRACK_EVENT through the existing HMAC-signed path.
The effect is immediate: ReviewPrompt responses, Shopify-to-AliExpress attribution, and the new NPS events all flow to the backend from v20 onward. Historical data before v20 is lost, but going forward the measurement is accurate.
3. ReviewPrompt on Shopify
The CWS review-request prompt has lived on AliExpress and TikTok pages since v2.0.0.14. It was never mounted on Shopify. Users who installed the extension for the Shopify spy workflow and never visited an AliExpress product page literally never saw a review request. This release adds the ReviewPrompt component to ShopifyIndex.vue, making it eligible after one interaction and one day since install — the same threshold as AliExpress.
For segments A_BRAND and B_RETAILER (excluded from the new NPS prompt), ReviewPrompt is now the only feedback surface. Before this fix, they had none.
4. Chrome Web Store Listing — Shopify-First
The previous listing copy opened with "Find winning dropshipping products in seconds" and buried the Shopify spy section in position five. It also contained a 40-tool comma-enumeration that triggered a CWS policy rejection on v16 (the enumeration was partially removed in v16 patch but the spam signal remained).
v20 replaces the opening with a Shopify-first hook ("You open a competitor's Shopify store..."), promotes the Stack Intelligence and Store Compare features to the top, and removes all enumerated tool lists. A claim about "set alerts on emerging categories" — a feature that was rolled back in v15 — was also removed to prevent deceptive-description risk.
The short description in the CWS dashboard became "See any Shopify store's sales, tech stack & best-sellers. Source products on AliExpress instantly. 100% free." — 109 characters, Shopify-first, no keyword stuffing.
5. 16 Locales Everywhere
Previously the Chrome Web Store listing was localized in five languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Vietnamese). The in-app i18n supported 16 languages for extension UI strings but the CWS listing was out of sync. v20 expands CWS listing coverage to all 16 locales: Arabic, German, English, Spanish, French, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Thai, Turkish, Vietnamese.
This matters because the CWS listing CTR varies dramatically by locale — Vietnamese and tier-2 European markets convert 30 times better than the US listing. Giving them native-language listings is a lagging-indicator acquisition lever.
6. TikTok Widget Localization
The TikTok content-script widget and the popup UI were English-only through v19. v20 ships both with full 16-locale coverage, routed through the same i18nPlugin used by the AliExpress and Shopify panels.
What did not change
- No new Chrome permissions. The extension still requests only
storage. No browsing history access, no tabs permission, no notifications. - No new AI features, no new tabs, no new research endpoints.
- No pricing changes. The extension remains 100% free.
How to update
If you already have AliShopping Tools installed, Chrome auto-updates extensions in the background. Manually trigger an update by visiting chrome://extensions, enabling developer mode, and clicking "Update."
If you have not installed it yet, the extension is available on the Chrome Web Store — one-click install, no account needed.
What is next
v21 is in scope planning. The top three candidates right now are: a TikTok Shop deeper integration, a Facebook Ad Library native integration (click from a competitor product to their active ads), and a Shopify competitor A/B tracker (watch a store for theme or price changes week over week). If you have an opinion, reply in the Product Hunt discussion or leave a comment on the CWS listing.
The feedback flywheel that shipped today is how we measure which v21 direction has the strongest pull. If you installed v20 and you are a Shopify operator, you will see the NPS prompt soon. Any score, any text — it all lands in front of us.
