What changed in v2.0.0.23
Feature: Enhanced TikTok Shop viral scoring with regional market targeting
Previous behaviour: TikTok viral score was calibrated to a global average across all markets.
v23 behaviour: The TikTok viral score now adjusts to your selected target market (US / UK / AU / CA / Global). A product that is trending strongly on TikTok Shop US but has low TikTok momentum in Australia now shows different scores depending on which market you configure in settings.
Why it matters: Dropshippers selling to specific regional markets get more relevant TikTok demand signals. A US-focused operator now sees the score calibrated to US TikTok Shop demand, not a global average that may be influenced by markets they do not sell to.
How to configure: Settings → Trend → Default TikTok market → select your primary selling region.
Feature: Multi-store picker in Shopify import (VerdictTab)
Previous behaviour: Direct import from the AliExpress product page to Shopify required a default store to be pre-selected.
v23 behaviour: When you have multiple Shopify stores connected (via AliShopping Tools' Shopify integration on astools.app), the VerdictTab now shows inline pill buttons to select which store to import to. Single-store setups see no change — the import button works as before.
Why it matters: Multi-store operators (running separate stores for different niches or markets) can now choose the destination store per product without switching accounts. Each product import goes to the right store in one action.
Improvement: Expanded red flag detection in Supplier Risk tab
See live AliExpress data in your browser.
Seller trust score, 90-day price history, and live promo codes — on every AliExpress product page. No account, free.
What changed: The Supplier Risk tab picks up two additional seller-side risk patterns:
- Response rate drop below 80% in the last 60 days
- Store name recently changed (a tactic used by sellers trying to escape poor reputation)
Why it matters: The previous Supplier Risk tab primarily checked dispute rate and store age. This expansion catches suppliers in decline before their overall metrics drop — giving you earlier warning of reliability problems.
What it does not do: none of these patterns are derived from the review corpus. The Risk tab does not detect review farming, does not compare review count against order count, and does not watch for 1-star spikes — nothing in the extension analyses reviews for anomalies. Those reads belong to you, and the Reviews tab supports them by showing the review count, the full 1-to-5-star distribution, All / With Photos / Additional filters, buyer photos at full size, and an export in CSV, JSON, TXT or XLSX.
Improvement: Panel load speed on AliExpress product pages
What changed: Extension panel now loads 30-40% faster on most AliExpress product pages. The Verdict tab data is now available within 1-2 seconds of page load rather than 3-4 seconds previously.
Technical detail: Panel render was blocking on backend API calls for TikTok and Trend data. In v23, the Verdict tab renders with cached data immediately while TikTok and Trend data loads asynchronously.
Bug fix: Supplier comparison tab not loading for some product categories
Issue: In v22, the Supplier comparison tab failed to load comparison data on AliExpress products in certain categories (specifically jewellery, craft supplies, and some electronics subcategories) due to a category mapping mismatch.
v23 fix: Category mapping updated to handle all AliExpress category IDs. Supplier comparison now works across all product categories.
Bug fix: Profit tab currency conversion
Issue: When operating currency was set to EUR or GBP and AliExpress listed a product price in USD, the profit calculation occasionally showed incorrect converted values (off by 2-5%) due to cached exchange rates not updating.
v23 fix: Exchange rates now refresh every 4 hours. Force refresh available in Settings → Currency → Refresh rates.
Known limitations in v2.0.0.23
- Firefox: v23 is Chrome/Chromium only. Firefox is not supported.
- AliExpress mobile: Extension only works on desktop AliExpress.com (not the mobile site or app).
- AliExpress search results pages: The panel only appears on individual product pages (aliexpress.com/item/...), not on search result listings.
- Private-label products without AliExpress listing: Supplier comparison requires an AliExpress product listing to find comparable sellers. Products not on AliExpress do not appear in supplier comparison.
Upcoming in future versions (roadmap)
These features are in development and not yet committed to a specific version:
- AliExpress search results overlay — showing quick verdict scores in search listings without opening each product
- Improved historical trend data beyond the current 30-day window
- Direct Shopify import of variant images (currently images are not transferred on import)
FAQ
How do I know which version of AliShopping Tools I have?
Go to chrome://extensions in Chrome, find AliShopping Tools, and click "Details." The version number appears at the top of the details page.
Why did AliShopping Tools update automatically without me doing anything?
Chrome extensions update automatically in the background when new versions are approved on the Chrome Web Store. This is standard Chrome behaviour and keeps you on the latest version without manual action.
Did anything break in my workflow after the v23 update?
The Supplier tab behaviour changed (expanded red flag detection may surface flags on some suppliers you previously rated as acceptable). If you see new red flags on a previously approved supplier, review the specific flag — it may indicate a genuine recent decline in their reliability.
Is v23 stable?
Yes. v2.0.0.23 is the stable release. If you experience any issues, report them via the Chrome Web Store feedback or astools.app/contact.
